Vendor placement for James St Summer Market and Canada Day was running on hand-drawn paper maps. Vendors turned up on event day not knowing where their booth was, and the organizer spent hours answering the same question over and over.
The problem was never the map. It was that every event started from scratch, and the only person who knew the layout was the one being asked about it fifty times on setup morning.
We put the whole street on a real map. April places vendors, food trucks, and tents where they actually go, drags them to reposition, and shares one public link. Vendors open it, type their name, and their booth lights up. Nobody has to call anyone.
The association runs multiple street events a season with the same street and mostly the same businesses. Before this, each one was rebuilt by hand. Now the street is entered once and every event after it starts from the last one.
The hours that used to go into drawing maps and fielding vendor calls on setup morning go back to the person running the event.

Once our street's businesses are entered, we can easily assign and update vendor placements for each event without starting from scratch. It saves significant time, reduces errors, and brings much-needed clarity for both organizers and vendors, not to mention, it looks much more professional.
